Yahooo!... feeling happy lately cos i just created another transgenic zebrafish! It is new, created from a promoter gene that was isolated from Fugu (pufferfish) and expressed in the pancreas. But when injected into zebrafish, it is expressed in the neuro tube instead! As it has not been characterized yet, alot is still unknown about this line... whether it can survive till adulthood... how the GFP expression is like at different life-stages... and so on. Too bad i can't include this in my project cos it was originally served as "safety net" for my FYP, a completely different project just in case the one i'm working on doesn't work. So far, i've created 2 transgenic lines and i felt like a mad scientist hahaa.
This is the 1st line ("monster") that i created, expresses GFP in the neuro tube, eyes... as well as in the heart (the small green thing beside the yolk). Don't have photos of the 2nd line yet, maybe show it next time.
Recently there have been several symposium and talks in Biopolis, so we get to eat free food from the catering, and even dabao back to our workplace for tea break! Reminds me of the good-old-free-food days in SBS, eating food catering that are mostly not for us heh heh. These are the dabao food, with the most delicious in ascending order.
Dumplings, got veggie i don't like.
Crab claws, real claws are made together with it.
Cheese sticks, better if eaten when hot with cheese oozing.
Lastly, chicken drumsticks, tasted a bit like BBQ and spicy. Its good... even when its already cold. We didn't get to finish them cos the dabao was only brought to us after the lunch break.. so late and so full... why i didn't know it earlier... WHY ?!Just now while walking out the lift and along the corridor leading to my house, wah i saw a GIANT monster on my neighbour's window!

*ZOOM* See!? So BIG, almost my palm size. When i saw it, i quickly ran to a safe distance and took a pic of it. Wanted to go in nearer to get a better shot but too scared... Ewwww~ ~ ~ should be a grasshopper i think, aiya watever it is, 6 legged creatures are all disgusting to me. :p
